Long-Term Storage in San Diego
Vector Moving and Storage provides long-term storage in San Diego for household furniture, packed belongings, and approved business contents. Our crew handles pickup, warehouse placement, and delivery when you are ready, helping you manage an extended gap between homes, a renovation, or a change in plans.
Storage for the months between plans
Long-term storage works best when the belongings can stay put until an arranged delivery. We plan the handling and space around that longer stay.
An extended move or time away
Keep furniture and household belongings in storage while you are between homes, working away, or waiting to settle on a permanent address. Plan separately for the items you need every day.
A major renovation or downsizing
Clear rooms before construction or store selected furniture while you decide what fits the next home. Separate items that will be delivered elsewhere before the pickup.
A business transition
Store approved office furniture and packed business contents during a relocation, fit-out, or reduction in office space. Discuss anything you expect to need during the storage period.

How your storage space is planned
We review the furniture, boxes, and larger pieces before recommending storage space. Goods may be placed in moving vaults or designated warehouse areas, depending on the shipment and the agreed arrangement.
A standard moving vault is approximately 5 feet wide × 7 feet long × 7.5 feet high. The usable capacity depends on the shape of the furniture, packing, protection, and loading arrangement. A bedroom count alone cannot tell you how many vaults a shipment will need.
Send an inventory or photos for a practical estimate. Identify furniture that can be disassembled and anything that needs special handling.

Review the shipment
Share the inventory, pickup address, access details, expected storage period, and any known delivery plans. Discuss packing and retrieval requirements before booking.
Prepare and collect
Complete your packing or arrange crew assistance. Furniture is prepared for the agreed service, and the crew collects the belongings from your property.
Place into storage
Vector employees handle the warehouse placement. Keep your agreement, inventory or receiving records, and packing list for reference during the storage period.
Arrange delivery
Contact us when the destination and date are known. We review access, scheduling, account status, and the work needed to deliver the stored shipment.
Access and delivery are arranged through Vector
Your belongings are stored in a company-managed warehouse. This service does not include a private, walk-in storage unit.
Discuss partial access when booking
If you may need specific items during storage, tell the office at the original booking and have the request recorded. Show those items to the movers before loading so they can be placed in a separate access-designated vault or area. If this was not arranged, partial access is not available.
Schedule the final delivery
Vector employees perform warehouse handling and move-out. Customers and outside moving companies do not collect items directly from the warehouse. We can discuss delivery to your home, business, or another authorized location, including a third-party facility.
Plan ahead for anything you might need. Keep identification, medication, valuables, work essentials, and important records with you. Approved retrieval must be scheduled and may involve labor, handling, and other agreed service charges.
Review the complete Storage Terms and Conditions for access, delivery, billing, and the terms that apply to your shipment.
Pack for storage and for the delivery ahead
Good preparation makes it easier to keep track of belongings months later. Pack items clean and dry, use suitable boxes, and label each box with its contents and destination room. Put furniture hardware in a clearly marked bag associated with the correct piece.
- Make a packing list and photograph items that need condition or identification records.
- Separate anything that will go to another address or will not be stored.
- Discuss fragile, high-value, oversized, and temperature-sensitive items before pickup.
- Review restricted items before packing food, liquids, chemicals, or other unsuitable goods.
Use our packing services for the full shipment or selected belongings, and check what cannot go into storage before moving day.

What affects long-term storage costs?
Ask for a written estimate that separates the monthly storage charge from moving and handling services. This makes it easier to plan for both the stay and the eventual delivery.
The assigned vaults or spaces and agreed rate determine the monthly storage charge. Packing, pickup, approved retrieval, and redelivery involve their own service requirements.
Storage is billed in monthly cycles under your agreement. Contact the office about your move-out date before the next invoice or payment is processed; do not assume unused days will automatically be refunded.

Moving and storage overviewLong-term storage questions
How long can I keep my belongings in storage?
Discuss your expected timeline when booking. Storage continues under the monthly terms in your agreement, and you can contact the office to plan delivery when your next address is ready.
Can I visit my storage vault or pick up items myself?
There is no independent warehouse access or self move-out. Partial retrieval must be arranged at the original booking for identified items stored separately. Vector employees perform approved handling and delivery, with applicable charges.
Is the warehouse climate-controlled?
Standard warehouse storage is not represented as climate-, temperature-, or humidity-controlled. Tell us about temperature-sensitive or special-care items before booking and confirm any required conditions in writing.
Can you store only some of my furniture?
Yes. Share the specific items and identify anything going to another destination. Storage space and pickup services are estimated from the actual shipment.
Are packing, pickup, and delivery included in the monthly charge?
Check your written estimate and confirmation. Monthly storage, packing, moving, handling, and transportation are separate services unless an agreed offer expressly includes them.
How do I arrange delivery after storage?
Contact the office with the destination address and preferred date. Provide parking, stairs, elevator, and building-access details. Delivery is scheduled around availability, account requirements, and the services in your agreement.
Where can I review the storage agreement?
Read our Storage Terms and Conditions together with your moving confirmation. Review the inventory or receiving records, billing, access arrangements, and valuation or protection options before storage begins.
Plan your storage pickup
Tell us what you need to store, where we will collect it, and your expected timeline. We will review the space, preparation, and service arrangements.
